WOMEN'S FOOTBALL CUP ARABIA 2010 - on the road to Germany
The Women’s Football World Cup will be held in Germany in 2011. As a build-up to this major sporting event, the German Foreign Office and the General Organization for Youth & Sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the “Women’s Football Cup ARABIA 2010 – On the road to Germany” from 18 to 28 October 2010 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The winning team - Jordan - will benefit from exclusive training in Germany in the run-up to the 2011 Women’s World Cup, which will be organized by the German Football Association and the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

Women’s football in the Arab world
Presented by Deutsche Welle, the "German Women Jazz Orchestra", which has been formed especially for this event, is visiting Bahrain from 16 till 21 October 2010 in order to accompany the Women's Football Cup ARABIA 2010 with a cultural music programme. The German Women Jazz Orchestra will first perform at the opening of the Women's Football Cup ARABIA 2010 in Manama on 18 October 2010. In addition, the German Women Jazz Orchestra will hold a music workshop with musicians from Bahrain during their visit in cooperation with the Bahrain Music Institute. The purpose of this workshop is to exchange musical roots and traditions and to rehearse music compositions, which will be performed during a joint concert in the Manama Cultural Hall on 21 October at 08.00 pm (next to the Bahrain Art Centre). The concert is open to the public.
